BREGUET
Creative, Storyboards and Concept Development
A 30″ commercial campaign for Breguet, developed in partnership with CNN TCP, draws inspiration from the mesmerizing beauty of kaleidoscopic visions, merging this concept with the elegance and precision of Breguet’s timepieces. The storyboard unfolds as a visual journey that begins in the serene, snow-covered Swiss Alps, where a watchmaker meticulously assembles a Breguet watch, each component coming together to form a masterpiece of craftsmanship.
As the gears of the watch click into place, the scene transitions dramatically into a kaleidoscopic vision of Paris. This sequence begins at the heart of the watch’s intricate mechanics. The camera zooms into the ticking movement of the watch, and as it does, the gears and hands begin to multiply and rearrange into kaleidoscopic patterns. These patterns seamlessly morph into iconic Parisian scenes—each twist and turn of the kaleidoscope reveals a new facet of the city, from the shimmering lights of I.M. Pei’s pyramid at night to the gardens of the Orangerie.
The visuals are crafted to emphasize the symmetry and beauty of kaleidoscopic images, mirroring the precision and artistry of Breguet watches. Each scene in Paris reflects a part of the watch’s design, suggesting that the beauty of the city can be seen through the lens of Breguet’s exquisite craftsmanship. For instance, the radial arrangement of Place De Gaulle mirrors the concentric circles of the watch’s timekeeping elements, while the iron patterns of the Eiffel Tower echo the intricate engravings on the watch tourbillon.
This design and storyboard for Breguet, themed around the kaleidoscope, not only highlight the brand’s legacy in watchmaking but also infuse a traditional narrative with imaginative and contemporary visuals. This project was particularly exciting due to its creative challenges and the opportunity to blend traditional craftsmanship with a vivid, modern representation of one of the world’s most iconic cities.
